Hey how you doing? I have a creative, fun-loving, and lighthearted personality which was covered up by my analytical, goal-oriented, strategic thinking mind. I’m so passionate about anything I do and love loving on people and seeing them smile.
I’ve found a new voice in making people happy and seeing them smile. I get to plan awesome events and set an inviting atmosphere that they and their guest can enjoy. And I must say I am loving it!!!!! Big parties, awesome décor and everything in between.
I am the Owner and Senior Event Planner at Erika’s Elegance, a Full Service Wedding and Event Planning and Design Company. I plan events that include weddings, wedding anniversaries, birthday parties, bridal showers, corporate meetings and events, galas, bridal shows, non-profit silent auctions, fashion shows, and bone marrow donor drives. I love everything about events and my goal is to make your dreams come to live…..
Who is Erika?
A Midwestern gal, injected with some southern hospitality and a southern twang living in a Cali world…..a wife (yippee!!!), daughter, sister, niece, Te-Te, cousin and friend who loves to dance, shop, laugh and hang out. I went to school for Accounting and Finance and worked in corporate for 16 years and later received a certification in Event Planning and there you have it, me!
What has shaped who I am?
I have traveled down many major roads in my life that have shaped who I am from my wonderful upbringing to the loss of my son and my dad (I couldn’t imagine the character those two events would carve into my life). Because of this, I love hard and fight harder and try to live life to the fullest. This is not to say I don’t still have hiccups but I deal with those hiccups a little differently.
What do I do in my free time?
What’s free time :). When I’m not planning events, I enjoy teaching a few courses Accounting Courses at Mt. SAC College, and can I tell you I LOVE teaching Financial and Cost Accounting, two of my #faves. I also am the Co-Director of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at Mt. Sac which is a group of IRS certified individuals providing free tax services to the community. I am also the Musical Director and Pianist for our Children’s Choir at Church and I am the Membership Director of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) – OC and the Co-Director for ABC-IE. And in between all of that, I enjoy laughing with my hubby, my momma, sister, aunt, nieces, and my friends.
