Aleshea and Robert’s Wedding Day

I had a blast working with my couple Aleshea and Robert to create a event they would remember a lifetime celebrated around the 4th of July.

I was able to work with the couple during their entire planning process.  I always ask my couple what memories they want to walk away with at the end or their wedding day and they wanted to ensure that they included their son Carter during their vows, they wanted to incorporate Aleshea’s Jamaican heritage in the food, and lastly they wanted their guests to have a great time all night. Let’s take a look at this beautiful event….

The ceremony and reception were held at one of my favorite venues in Saint Louis, the Sheldon Concert Hall.  It’s so full of rich history.

The day started off with a nice brisk breeze and clear skies truly a day fit for a wonderful celebration such as this.  Notice the Arch in the background another one of Saint Louis’ famous landmarks.

One thing apparent when working with the couple, was the love that the two shared between the two of them and the zeal for life and loving one another.  Hence is where the theme evolved.  The bride wanted to use famous couples that demonstrate a lasting love.  So I said let’s go with the tagline and theme of “The Perfect Couple” which was added to the seating chart, menu cards, and table numbers.

Aleshea chose the color palette of an eggplant purple which we paired with a platinum silver.  The bridesmaids wore platinum dresses all if different styles to suit their personality while the guys wore black tuxedos with platinum vests.

The bride wore this beautiful gown with just a touch of bling and shoes with another little touch of bling.  So classic and beautiful.

Aleshea looked absolutely stunning and her make-up was flawless with her eyes and lips donned in the perfect shade of purple.

And how cute is this little tuxedo that was worn by Master Carter, the couple’s son.  Can you say adorable.

When working on the overall design concept the bride wanted simple elegance.  So I created this look by draping columns in purple fabric and I created baby’s breath arrangements and added to the columns to soften the design.  I then added lots of candles on the floor and then I sprinkled purple rose petals on the floor.  This was all against a white draped backdrop with purple uplighting.  We brought the lights down a bit and had a very romantic setting.

Once the I Do’s were over the bridal party was swept off to take some offsite pictures.  The Lance, the photographer of Lance Omar Thurman Photography was awesome.  He has a wonderful eye in capturing candid photos that demonstrates the essence of the ones being photographed.  I think that these were some awesome shots!

Then it was party time!

To cap the night off all the guests went to the rooftop to see the fireworks over the city and to set off a few sparklers themselves.
